04 Irene and Vanessa

My nieces were happy to see me and we really enjoyed time spent together. Irene and her husband Pietro (pronounced in Italian...Pi.et.ro...cuz maman Marisa told me once that Italian is written just like its spoken, eh!) were charming hosts and needless to say, we had a blast.

Irene's house was transformed from the village Blacksmith's shop. The wrought iron bars slanted across the wall held hay for the animals, and the shelf underneath covers the bin they'd eat from. Notice the old wooden saddle on the floor...

One evening, everyone felt like breaking out and wearing hats, scarves, wigs and singing karaoke after a couple Jack's.

Baked some home made hors d'oeuvres filled with salmon and forgot what else...yummy. The funny white hat Vanessa is wearing is from Japan.

Pietro forgets he's Italian when wearing his beloved Irish wig.
